VR Controller collision only works on first scene load
I have a scene for a level selection that works perfectly when I launch it from unity, but after it loads another scene, then comes back to the selection scene, no collisions or triggers function at all. I have tried with debugging on and it doesn't go into the OnTrigger method.
This should be incredibly simple, as other collisions in other scenes work just fine. This is just a simple controller touching a cube to trigger loading a new scene.
public void OnTriggerEnter(Collider other)
{
SceneManager.LoadScene(LevelToLoad);
}
It works perfectly when the scene is loaded first. Then after looping back around to it during the regular game play, it no longer works. No errors are being thrown by unity, it just seems to ignore any collisions.
I have tried using as a collision, as a trigger, using rigidbodies. I can't figure out why it works sometimes and not others when the code can't change because there is no one at the keyboard to change it. All I can come up with is that unity is doing something in the background with scene loading that I don't know about.
No other objects in other scenes seem to have problems with collisions.
on the second load of the scene, the lighting changes, and no colliders work. I set one controller to be a trigger and one to be a regular collider, both with rigid bodies. This setup allows the box to be pushed with one hand and the level loading to activate with the other and works fine if I open the scene directly from unity, but after it's loaded from another scene all functionality stops.
