Question by spongyzetaprime · Nov 24, 2011 at 02:02 PM · c#referenceassembly

System.Management Assembly Reference

Dear All,

For a licensing system I am using in my game, I require the use of the library System.Management in C#. However when I make my using System.Management statement, the UnityEngine compiler says Management does not exist in the namespace System, however working perfectly well in Visual Studio. Is there a reason for this, or is there something I haven't done?

Thanks, SpongyZeta Prime

P.S. I have tried referencing System.Management in all the C# projects in the project folder - doesn't help.

I have identified an issue in that I made the assembly references in Visual Studio, which required some kind of upgrade. But that just added some files. I added the assembly references and I had to save a solution. But then I tried adding references in $$anonymous$$onoDevelop and it doesn't seem to save. Would any of this have influenced the situation? If so, how? And how would I fix the issue up?

System.Management namespace is not implemented in Mono and it probably never will be, because it doesn't map with linux.

http://www.mono-project.com/Compatibility

There are many things not supported by Mono (Forms or WCF - only the Silverlight 2.0 subset etc.)

As of April 2018 there appears to be the commands available to access the underlying functionality ... https://alvinalexander.com/linux-unix/linux-processor-cpu-memory-information-commands#comment-12156 ... would be very nice if you had the time MONO TEAM ty ly to see a System.Management.dll for MONO

Respectfully, John E Boy Baby @Smart3DWeb 'Make a way',... looks like as of April 2018 ... https://alvinalexander.com/linux-unix/linux-processor-cpu-memory-information-commands#comment-12156 ... meaning there are command to access the same underlying functionalities ... they need to be wrapped up into a System.Management.dll ... please ... ly ... ty Mono team ...
