Changing Player Color? Player Customization?

I'm making my first Unity game. So obviously, the player ins't anything special or whatnot. The player is currently a red sphere. I am trying to implement an in-game store to buy different colors or player themes with the in-game currency. How can I make it so that when I buy and choose a specific color in the store, the player's color will change in all scenes? I have made a prefab for the player. Perhaps there is a way to modify the prefab altogether?

I am scripting in UnityScript/Javascript. No C# please... :)

Thanks!
