Exporting models from sketchup
I have been wroking on these models for my game on sketch up for a while now on the free version. i have got the trial of it and when i export them as a obj file i then drag the obj and mtl files and the texture folder it creates for that model into unity. when i place the model in the scene it then had no textures and it had parts missing from it. can someone please tell me why and how to sort if its possible because i have been working on these for ages and i dont want to carry on unless i know it will work

It's been my experience that creating a folder, exporting the model into that folder and then dragging the folder into your assets works the best. This way materials and textures are where the model file (obj in your case) expect them to be. If you have access to a Pro version of SketchUp, try exporting (using this same method) to FBX. I've had much better luck with that format.
