In game, get object at mouse position or screen point without using a collider
Hello, is there any way one could, in game, get a gameobject at the mouse position or some point on the screen without that gameobject having a collider? Unfortunately, adding a collider/trigger is no option for me here.
How does unity select gameobject in the editor that have no colliders. Maybe this could be an option?
Thank you
@2dgame This might be superfluous, but 2d or 3d? Calculating an index is easy for a grid, but this is no trivial task if you're trying to do it in 3d. Why is not adding a collider an option? You could have it on a separate physics layer so that it doesn't interact with anything?
I'm talking 3D. The reason I don't want to add colliders is that I need to interact with ANY gameobject in the scene that is rendered. It should work as a package that you can add to any scene without tempering with the existing gameobjects or layers.
