iPad and Unity Remote

Question

Hey all,

I see with the release of Unity iPhone 1.7 that the remote is broken with iPad.

Known Issues

Unity iPhone Remote does not work on iPad.
Unity iPhone Remote does not support iPad resolution emulation in Unity iPhone Editor.

My question is, has there been a resolution to this problem yet, be it official or unofficial?

Without the remote I am finding that the work flow which made creating content for iPhone so easy is now so severely broken that building a game for the iPad is about unbearable.

Any solution would be greatly appreciated.

Just posting some of my own findings.
