Gun Audio reverbs off of Terrian- sounds horrible- What can I do?

When aiming at the ground the gun sound gets reverberated and sounds like its a machine gun but faster, and its not the setting of the audio, because its just one shot. When I shoot far away or into the sky, it sounds perfectly fine. What can I do about this?
