Mask an area of a 3D map to different color
I am looking to mask part of my 3D map where the part inside of the mask would remain the standard rgb full color spectrum, and anything outside of the mask would be in black and white.
For example: imagine an environment that has trees, water, grass, etc. Create a large sphere collider and place it on the map so that part of the map is inside the collider and part of it is not. How could I make everything inside of the collider stay color while everything outside of it is black and white?
Another way to look at it would be creating a spotlight where everything in the light is in color while anything outside of the light would be black and white.
I mentioned a collider because I would like there to be an effect change when a player moves in between the color/b&w parts of the map.
I would appreciate any direction on how I could create this sort of effect.
