Linear Offset issue with Relative Joint 2D
As a learning exercise, I am trying to re-create the 2D side scrolling shooter, R-Type. I currently working on getting the Power-ups to function properly... My question is about the Power-ups (called Bits) that sit directly above & below the player, following with a slight delay.
I am using a Relative Joint 2D component to make this work, but there is an issue that causes the linear offset to get off when you make quick back & forth movements...
Example: When the player moves left (or right) & stops, the Power-ups follow with a slight delay & end with the correct offset. However, if you move left, then quickly move right (before the Power-ups have caught up) they end with an offset slightly to the left of where it should be. They do eventually move to the correct offset (based on the Correction Scale), but I can't get the Power-ups to have a consistent delayed following movement.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
