Mac Webplayer rendering bug
We are having severe issues with the Webplayer on some Mac machines. The rendering pipeline simply seems to break down after drawing the Geometry pass. We get no Water4, no Transparent objects and no GUI. It doesn't seem to be a GPU/Shader issue, there are some advanced shaders on the Geometry pass which render fine, so there is no fallback shader being used.
The Webplayer log shows NO errors whatsoever. The objects (Water4 for example) are in the scene graph with all the expected properties, they are just not rendered.
The problem is the same whether we use the Forward or the Deferred rendering pipeline.
The machines are a MacBook Pro Core2Duo 2.2 GHz, OS X 10.6.8, with GeForce 8600M GT and an iMac with similar specs. On both, everything runs fine in the Unity Editor and in standalone builds.
The problem in the Webplayer persists regardless of the browser used. It has never occurred on Windows machines.
Anyone experiencing the same problems?
Cheers -Rouven
I am facing the same problem with the Webplayer on Chrome. Water4Example Advanced and Simple are not rendered in Chrome 15.0.874.121 but works with Firefox 3.6.24.
Tested on:
i$$anonymous$$ac, Intel Core 2 Duo, 3,06 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 9400, OS X 10.6.8
i$$anonymous$$ac, Intel Core i3, 3,2 GHz, ATI Radeon HD 5670, OS X 10.6.8
I've been having this issue for several weeks now and had reported it. Haven't heard back from Unity $$anonymous$$m at all.
