Item is only picked up when it is moving
I'm very new to Unity, C# and programming in general. I want a player to be able to pick up an object using colliders, when the player gameobject collides with the item, it increases a variable that stores the amount of that item. Then it calls a method that destroys the item. So far, everything except the collisions have been working, the collisions only seem to be detected if the item is moving, or at least dropped on the player. The player gameobject is using a Capsule Collider and Character Controller, The item is using a Mesh Collider and Rigidbody. OnCollisionEnter is used for the collisions. I have been stumped on this for a while and would appreciate help, thanks in advance.
