Downloaded an asset and now my project is deleted
I really messed up today. I should've listened to the one star review and avoided the asset. But I didn't and I downloaded this asset and it deleted everything. 4 months worth of work, and I have a deadline soon... I'm screwed please someone tell me there's a way to retrieve my project.
Looking at its entry in the Asset Store, it appears to only have two script files:
CarsMenu.cs
and
CarView.cs
The only other details of note appear to be:
Lambo.unity
and
SampleScene.unity
And all of that should be contained within subfolders to begin with, so it's less-likely overwriting your files in that respect. The only theoretical issue could be if the scenes are getting confused/hung up on same-name scenes, but that would also require that yours also have been named "Lambo" or "SampleScene".
With all of this in $$anonymous$$d (and no real motivation to download the Asset for myself, not just in light of your statements), do the script files appear to include elements which would be destructive to an existing project?
Always use some versioning system, even if working on a project all by yourself. Lets you review your chnages, go back to any previous version of your project (or just browse it) and serves as a backup too. Mercurial, Git, SVN. Learn one of those, commit your work frequently. Store it on some free server such as Bitbucket or Github in case your HDD dies. Anyway, I guess it's too late for that. Learn from your mistake and never repeat it.

What do you mean by deleted? This is really weird, never heard anything like it. Maybe the asset contained editor scripts that do something to the files? What did the asset contain? Every file that you delete from Unity is transfer to your recycle bin, did you check there? I'm sorry for your project, but if you did not back it up with a source control, external disk backup, USB flash drive or any other backup method, I don't know of a way to retrieve your files

@DivainUnity I just downloaded the asset in the first post I made (the link), and now when I open my project now, I can't find the objects, terrain, and stuff I created on the left side. I checked the recycle bin and can't find it, I guess I really am screwed.
