Change hex tilemap to use axial coordinates?
I'm wondering if it's possible to change the x axis on a tilemap? I'm trying to generate a map of tiles in a spiral as part of the program and I've been looking at this: Algorithm for creating cells by spiral on the hexagonal field
Basically, I want to be able to change the x axis of the hex grid so that "X remains the same when you go down and right (or up and left)". Is this possible? Or does anyone know of a different method to draw to a hex grid in a spiral as it currently is?
Thanks in advance :3
Edit: Bit more googling later, basically I want to be able to use axial coordinates. I've changed the title to be worded better.
