2d animation
How can I make a 2d character transparent?
My friend and I are currently developing a game on Unity 5, and he sketched out several backgrounds and characters for our game. However, we can't figure out how to get rid of the white box around the character frames when we put them into Unity, since he sketched them out in a notebook and scanned them into Paint to add color before putting them into Unity. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

You need to use PhotoShop or something like GIMP to change the white pixels to transparent ones, then overwrite the old sprite.
Once this is done ensure Unity is reading each asset as a 2D sprite and UI object.
