size of window

I saw some answers similar to this but didn't get a sound solution. I'm trying to set the screen resolution on the configuration box to have 1026 x 598 as the default and potentially remove the others. I changed the default screen width and default screen height in player settings but didn't see a change in the new build. This is for PC, Mac, and Linux. any advice helps.
