How can you change textures in a way that is scalable?
I have a tilemap of grass tiles that I want to react to my player's presence by replacing the tile pixels with different tiles pixels in a circle pattern. Currently, I am achieving this with a grass tile manager that creates the circle pattern and divides the portions of the pattern into the correct tiles, the tile then mixes the alive texture and dead texture.
the coroutines stack up and slow the game down. My question is, is this the best way to get this effect? Can I create a shader that does the same thing?
