Need unity for less than a year, but must go pro. is there a solution ?
Hi, We're not a gaming company, but we want to develop few games that are related to our product. we probably need 1 license that's not problem to pay for a whole year for, and a second license that'll last only for few months.
Is there a solution? Or must I buy 2 pro licenses and commit for 1 year each.. ?
Thanks
Unity runs on a per month basis.
That's not true. AFAI$$anonymous$$ the $$anonymous$$imum subscription period is 12 month. After that period you can cancel monthly, yes. However they seem to have burried the information strangely in that new layout, I actually hate sites like that. A lot advertisement but the important information is missing.
The FAQ always mentions the "commitment period" and for "more" details you should go to the store. But there's actually less information.
Though if you actually try to subscribe you will see that you can only choose:
2 years prepaid
1 year prepaid
1 year monthly paid
So you have to pay at least $1500 is you subscribe to Unity pro. After the commitment period you can cancel every month.
Should have looked at the $$anonymous$$imum contact time. Thanks for the correction.

No, there's no way to get a Unity pro license for less than a year. So if you really need pro you have to get the 2 licenses for at least 1 year.
I don't really NEED pro, but the company-revenue limitation of Unity forces me to get the pro ... Can't use the plus ...
But in that case it shouldn't be a problem to afford 2 Unity pro licenses, no?
It's not a problem to afford it, you're right.. Still I just wanted to know if there's a way to pay only for period of time that we'll use Unity.. I guess there's no other way so we'll get the licenses for a year..
