Question by Jojo Batista · Apr 02, 2015 at 04:01 PM · buildsizescenes

Scenes weight 100mb , around 50% of the build

When I do a right click -> properties on the folder containing all my scenes, the weight is supposed to be 20 mb. After building, when I see the console log, It says that my scenes weight 100 mb! Any clues on why is this happening?

Editor log: Textures 71.5 mb 34.3% Meshes 8.2 mb 3.9% Animations 10.1 mb 4.8% Sounds 9.6 kb 0.0% Shaders 8.8 mb 4.2% Other Assets 1.4 mb 0.7% Levels 100.2 mb 48.1% Scripts 1.6 mb 0.8% Included DLLs 4.1 mb 1.9% File headers 2.6 mb 1.2% Complete size 208.4 mb 100.0%

I think I found the answer in case someone is interested. The issue is with new unity 5 lightning system "Enlighten" Apparently it doesn't show up but it then adds a lot of stuff to do the lights. If you remove the lights at the scene the size will decrease a lot.

Hi,

I have the same problem: my scene.unity is 118$$anonymous$$B. I've removed all my lights in the scene but the size is the same. In the Player Settings for Android I've also unticked the Static Batch option but without success.

I'm using Unity 5.5.2f1

After build the editor log looks like this:

Textures 46.4 mb 24.7% $$anonymous$$eshes 6.8 mb 3.6% Animations 8.6 kb 0.0% Sounds 1.9 mb 1.0% Shaders 1.3 mb 0.7% Other Assets 7.0 mb 3.7% Levels 115.4 mb 61.6% HUGE!!! Scripts 1.6 mb 0.9% Included DLLs 6.4 mb 3.4% File headers 717.8 kb 0.4% Complete size 187.5 mb 100.0%

I don't know what to do to reduce the apk build size which is 83.5$$anonymous$$b now.

@John3D Have the same problem. Scenes before build weight 6mb, after building apk scenes weight 117 mb. Have you found a solution?

@$$anonymous$$elnikovv $$anonymous$$y problem was related to EasyRoads3D: I needed to finalize the road. That solved my problem by probably removing a lot of stuff that was not needed in the final AP$$anonymous$$. Check what assets do you use.
