How to adjust scale of UI panel as to fill percentage of the screen?
I cannot use anchors as they change actual size of the panel which contains a text object inside which in turn has variable length and may cut off/not fill enough of characters at lower/higher resolutions. I need same amount of characters per line/lines independent of the size.
I also cannot use the "best fit" option for text object as it contains dialogue and my typewriter effect requires same font size thorough the message, otherwise it would look ugly.
The only way I can think to achieve what I want (same on-screen size, independent of resolution) is to adjust scale of the object at runtime, but I don't know how to do that without scaling it too much/too little.
Have you tried playing with the settings on the CanvasScaler Component attached to your Canvas object? You may want to try using one of the other two options. It may require readjusting some things when you first make the change but could produce the results you are looking for.
