Using Unity Offline: Mandatory License Updates For Free Users?
I hadn't used Unity in a while, a month or longer, and got a nasty surprise just now. I ran the program and was told I wasn't allowed to use it because I was offline and needed to authorize my license. I am a free/personal user. In the past I'd seen a "work offline" button whenever I ran Unity offline, and assumed there was no problem because I'm not paying for the pro features, and there's no real reason I need Net access for every session.
Do I understand correctly that I'm not allowed to use Unity, at all, without regularly asking for permission to run it? It's galling to know somebody has a de facto kill switch for the development tools on my computer.
