Clickable Worldspace UI Buttons?

hello, I'm trying to make a world space canvas with a button in it, such that i can attach it to a wall in my game and the player can run up to it and click it - but it wont follow the player around or anything. This seems like something that should be trivial, and I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. I've attached screenshots showing what my current setup is. As of right now the button is completely unresponsive.

I really don't think that theres anything above the button that would be blocking the raycast, there is another canvas in the scene but its not enabled.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong, or if this isn't possible!

It looks like you're missing the EventSystem game object. Unity will add one object with an EventSystem component automatically when you add a UI element in the editor, that game object must be pressent for the UI events to work properly.
