Key elements in how to make a 3d golf game

I need the short key points about how to make a 3d golf game with Unity for iPhone. I need to know details like whether to use terrain and if terrain is supported on iPhone.

How to go about implementing different surfaces with different friction, wind etc. I suppose most of them will be available with the existing physics engine in Unity.

But I just want to be sure I don't waste time running in circles once I start. FYI I am an experienced game developer who is new to Unity.
