Start AR with button instead of at launch?
My AR app relies heavily on the coordinate position - mapping out a room and then creating a 5x5 grid from the four corners marked by the user.
I'm having a lot of trouble getting each spaced out point in the grid because the grid can have so many different orientations depending on where the user begins their AR session. They may have opened the app and walked 20 feet away and then began to mark, for example.
So, I think it would be easiest if there is a way to show the user to stand in one corner before we begin mapping. And then when the user is ready, they press a button to begin the AR session. The origin will then be based on their position at push of a button rather than at the app startup. Ideally, they could choose to end the session as well and return to the original menu - waiting for the user to start a new session.
I have the same question, did you figure it out already? @brettcomardelle93
