TextMeshPro goes invisible on cloned GameObject
I've given up. Five hours of Google didn't lead me anywhere. As of writing this post, I'm both on the newest version of TMP as well as Unity itself, in hopes that it'd do anything to help my cause. No chance.
All I want to do is change the text of a cloned GameObject's TMP text at runtime. The variables themselves do change, but the text goes invisible on the newly instantiated text. Even ForceMeshUpdate(true);
doesn't do anything.
It should be noted though, as soon as I change even a single aspect of the TMP inspector, the text immediately shows up perfectly fine. An extra letter, boldness, kerning, whatever. But not when I change it within code.
Please give me some help, because I feel like I'm going insane here...
