UI does not work in build

Hello! So I've been working on a "MainMenu" scene for about a week now and just until last night everything was working flawless. But suddently the UI stopped running functions assigned in the exported version of the game (the build). The most odd thing is that it still works flawless...in the editor. I've noticed that the problem occurs when I try to run funcions that are in components which lie upon other GameObjects. Because if I was to run the function from a component which is applied to the button directly it works both in the build and the editor as well. But if I try to run functions that is applied to (for example) a "GameMaster" object in the scene. It simply won't run the function. I'm running windows 7 and the scene (UI) has been working the whole week (since it was released acctually). I'm so confused, I've reinstalled Unity to the latest version (5.2) (and tried other versions in the unity3D subreddit) as well as cleared library and temp files in the project (if I was not supposed to touch the library folder; I've got a backup). I appreciate all the help I can get!
