How to increase an integer by 1 every 2 of another integer
Hey guys!
First time posting here! I am currently making a RPG that is somewhat similar to Runescape but 2D. I am currently stuck on how to increase the player's max hit (by 1) every 2 strength levels. The combat system is going to be using Random.Range(0, maxHit).
maxHit is going to be affected by the strength but I have no idea how to actually make the 'maxHit' variable increase for every 2 strength levels. Currently starting at 1 strength, the player can hit anywhere from 0 to a max hit of 2.
I would love some help to point me in the right direction or an explanation on how to do this!

Uhm, simply:
maxHit = 1 + strength / 2;
Hey thanks for the reply, I didn't really even think about it that way. I ended up figuring a way out shortly after I posted this, but I ended up taking the long way around it. I did:
if (CurStrengthXP >= nextStrength) { nextStrength *= 1.5f; StrengthLvl += 1; strengthTracker += 1; }
if (strengthTracker == 2) { maxHit += 1; strengthTracker = 0; }
This way it basically took a couple extra steps but it works the way I want it too. Every level it increases 'strengthTracker' by 1, and when it reaches 2 it increases maxHit by 1 and is then reset back to zero in order to keep the scaling of every 2 levels.
Yours would also give the desired effect BUT wouldn't that also increase it by .5 every level? Which also wouldn't really work due to me having Integers (I could be very wrong about this but that's my understanding of it).
Would love to know what you think of my method on how I did it :)
Once again, Thanks for the response!
