obstacle avoidance depenetration velocity

I’m using the navmesh agent feature, and the obstacle avoidance tends to force units apart pretty violently. I want units to avoid each other somewhat, but some clipped is acceptable vs having units force each other apart at high speeds. There is a method to control depenetration velocity on rigid bodies, and was wondering if obstacle avoidance has / could have something similar.

My apologies if this has been asked or addressed elsewhere.
