Unity 3 won't build web or pc versions
Hi,
I have just upgraded my project to Unity 3, and it runs ok in the editor, but when I go to build either a web version or a standalone pc version, Unity asks for a folder to build the web version in, or an exe name for the standalone, then once this info is provided, I get a loud "ding" noise from my PC and i doesn't do anything else.
There appears to be no error messages displayed and I can't see what else to do next.
Any ideas?
John

read in the log,and check what is the problem.
Thanks - but where do I find this log? I can't see it in any of the menu links in Unity?
I did check the event log if that's what you mean and I can see a load of errors like this:
The entry in the hash map cannot be updated.
Context: Application, SystemIndex Catalog
Details: A device attached to the system is not functioning. (0x8007001f)
A device attached to the system is not functioning. (0x8007001f). are u using an usb harddisk? check what device doesn't works. i think's this is or joipad(or any controller) or external hd usb.

Ding sound ? Is there a windows explorer error message hiding behind you unity screens ( Or other stuff you have open? ) That is the first thing to check with "ding" sounds in my experience. Maybe not the perfect answer but still is a good idea to think of the easy solutions before you go to the harder ones :)

I'm having the same issue, any ideas? no error messages nothing in event log. Just a ding and nothing happens. I've tried loading previous versions, restarting pc.
