chain and 3rd person character
Hello guys !
I'm having a big problem using a chain and a 3rd person controller (the player).
The idea : I would like to link a character to a chain so that the movements of the player can be restricted within a certain radius (the chain length). To do that I also link the chain to a huge weight.
My big problem is when I want the player to go around a pillar for example. The chain passes through the pillar (no matter the collider I put on it). To move the player, I use forces applied to its rigidbody, so that the chain can drag him back when it is stretched. But to move the player I'm using huge forces. And finally, the forces are too strong and the chain is dragged through the pillar. I tried to change the collision detection mode of the chain but nope ! :p
The chain is made with hinge joints and rigidbodies. I also play with the spring and damper parameters, but it's not solving it.
I'm sorry for my english, I'm a french student.
Thanks a lot for helping.
