Scriptable object reset button in inspector is faded unity. How to 'unfade'

Every single scriptable object has its 'reset' option faded in the inspector. Is this a bug or by design? I often need to reset values to their custom default set in script fields. How may i fix this? I'm on 2019.4.20f LTS.
