Missing or garbled text in UI.Text
We use dynamic fonts to draw text on our controls. We get garbled or missing characters at random places after the text changes/activates. We tried to fix it by calling Canvas.ForceUpdateCanvases() and font.RequestCharactersInTexture()/text.FontTextureChanged() but it still happens. We tried this both on Unity 4.6.4 and Unity 5.
I'm getting the same problem in Unity 5. Some text with a font unrelated to yours, shows up garbled or missing, randomly, on different labels. Doesn't matter if it's the label on a button or just text over a background.
This is still a problem, is there still no solution to it?
Not a problem anymore, as far as I know. I still see this happen occasionally--like if I change some settings in the canvas. But if I move the camera or press the play button or something, it will force the dynamic text to recalculate and it will show up again. $$anonymous$$ildly annoying, but no big deal. Never happens at runtime.
