Speeding up load time

I'm creating a 2d Terraria like game where I generate random terrain using perlin noise. I'm running into a problem where if I make my chunks have like say over 1,000 blocks per chunk unity won't even load the game at all, even when I build it the game will crash. Have any of you ever created a game like this and how did you go about reducing load times but the game is going to need to be much larger than it is.
