Problem is not reproducible or outdated. I removed InputSystem from the project and therefore, it could probably not be reproduced.
Android remote player and input system won't work
So, let me explain my issue beacuse is somewhat complex and I couldn't really find anything about it, and it might be an issue with the SDK, JDK, NDK or somewhere along those lines, on which im a complete noob.
First, I was unaware of how much does the android ~DKs gives trouble to install and so. When I started to install everything seem right but and when i tried to connect the phone it just didn't behave as i expecting...
Steps: (First issue) 1.Open UnityHub->new URP project (it was discovered under some other project, but this way proves is not related to files or config in it.) 2.Project settings-> Editor->Unity Remote-> Device = Any Android Device 3.Open Unity Remote 5 on device (debug activated, JDK from oracle since installation from unityhub is also bugged and it says it installs it but it is never checked after..) and connect it to PC.
4.Press Play (sample scene). Expected: play in unity Remote -> Happens: Plays in unity editor.
(Second issue) 5. Unplug Device-> Install Input System->Open Input Debug Window 6. Connect Xbox Controller: Detected/shown, debuggable (all ok). -> Unplug controller. -> Plug Android Device -> Open Input Debugger Window ->Remote Devices: Expected->Show somewhere. Happened:Nothing.
(Third Issue) 7. Build Settings->Android->Switch Platform. 8.(under Input Debug window) Remote Devices->(finally appears)Click con AndroidPlayer ADB@(127.0.0.1.34999): Console Logs:
"DisconnectMsg.Process UnityEditor.Networking.PlayerConnection.EditorConnection:DisconnectedCallback(Int32) UnityEditorInternal.ProfilerDriver:set_connectedProfiler(Int32) UnityEditor.GenericMenu:CatchMenu(Object, String[], Int32)" as Message every time.
And the selection dissapears.
9-Build Settings->Build->Try 8 again -> Same message. HOWEVER Something different happens after this step on my project (everything else its the same):
Under the "Remote" label, 2 labels appear: 1 with the device name AndroidPlayer ADB@(127.0.0.1.34999), and below "autoconnected players" and starts adding keyboard & mouse devices indefinitely, until switch back to Editor.
I don't really know why this happens and I will appreciate every help I can get, because there's nothing like that anywhere.
Linking my repo to maybe make it easier figuring out what exactly might being wrong with the project settings (cause theres not much than that there)...
Of course, i can also provide any sort of info needed in order to sort this out. I'm really interested on being able to live-debug/test the android/iOS device with the input system, and I'm in real need for any help about this matters (Android NDK, SDK, JDK w/unity).
