Why windZones don't affect trees created in editor and placed using "place trees"
Hi,
When using trees created in the editor placed using either the "place trees" or "mass place trees" the wind does not have any effect on those trees. I'm using a directional windzone.
When instantiating the same tree prefab in the "hierarchy" all works as expected.
Trees created externally ie: palm tree from "terrain assets" work as expected.
Is this a limitation of the new tree/terrain system or am I missing something?
Kind regards,
Seb

Hi,
Actually there's more to this. The tree from Unity's Standard Assets called "Palm" still does not wave, using the methods you pointed out.

The Terrain editor has an option for 'bending' the tree's under the wind settings options that you should use when using "place trees" or "mass place trees".
Regular trees (not created in the terrain editor) should use the wind zone game object

You can also go to the asset store and download the free palm tree asset: http://u3d.as/656 It uses a script to make the leaves sway in the wind
