Custom terrain mesh - loss of LOD worth it if trees are occluded with occlusion culling?
If I import custom terrain mesh into unity, there is a loss of LOD functionality, but do you really need it if you will have occlusion culling and mip mapping? How big of a difference would it make? Is it hard to write your own LOD for terrain?
Would be awesome to just make everything in modeling software.
