How to make a 3rd person character controller

I am working on a small project and I tried making my own. 3rd person character controller, but it's not working at all. I tried different tutorials but they aren't working. Does anybody know a valid. tutorial on how. to make a 3rd person character controller, or does anybody know how to make one?
