Mass terrain generation
Hi,
I want to create a big map that is split in cells like a grid. This map does not have to be 3d but it is not the issue I am concerned with. I want each cell to contain a unique randomly generated terrain with all the normal features of a terrain(trees, rocks, water). So basically I want to generate many different terrains of the same size but with different shape and arrangement of features. What is the best way I can achieve this for Unity?

This is somewhat replied by this but specifically, you will most certainly need a specific editor script that randomizes all the relevant parameters you're interested in (number of trees, maximum and minimum size and depth of the terrain, etc.) and then generates a heightmap, or calls an arbitrary terrain data generation algorithm, to feed that data to the actual terrain creation procedure from the docs.
