Help importing 2D art. - Answered
Good morning,
Question: How do I figure out the best resolution for a character roughly the size of a standard cube in Unity. In other words how would the size of one face of a cube in Unity translate to Photoshop?
I am working on a game using 2D art from photoshop. I havent made the art yet but I have gotten most of the games mechanics working inside unity. I all ready have the scale for different objects collision. I am just trying to figure out the best scale to make my art where Unity wont have to scale it up or anything. Thank you for taking the time to help.
It depends on the resolution and kind of the style you're going for.
Typically sizes though would be, in pixes, 128x128, 256x256, 512x512 and 1024x1024.
Normally I shoot for the 512x512 size, but I use 1024x1024 on things that need to look really crisp because a)they are gui elements, b) they are big or c) they are a focus and you just want it to look good.
Thank you for the very simple straight forward answer that's exactly what I needed ( I'm sure there is a much more complex answer I'm not really interested in at this time!) . Being my game is very simple I might make the original design of my player large and scale it down if need be for some reason. Thanks again!
Don't forget to mark it as the answer :)
Thanks and good luck!
