How to shoot a raycast that checks distace between player and what's under the player?
I know how to shoot a raycast down, but how could I use the hit, I think I'd use the hit, and check the distance between the player and where the ray hits? How would I make the ray shoot from the player position?

When you make a ray, you can start it wherever you want to. The ray takes an 'origin' Vector3, which can be anything. Just use the player's position as the origin if you want to start it at the player.
