Can I only use the Unity launch screen in my iOS app?
According to Apple every app has to have a launch image. I was wondering if the Unity launch screen counts in place of this, or if I need a separate one of my own. I don't really have a need for it as I am an independent developer, and it would save me time if I did not have to make them.
I would just try uploading it. if it gets rejected because of this, add one.
I guess if nobody can confirm for me ahead of time then I will come back and post the answer myself, but it would be nice if I didn't have to wait a week just to get rejected.
About 5 years ago i've worked in a company that mainly made browser games but they started with mobile using Untity. We released 2 or 3 games and didn't have to include any launch "screens". However things could have changed (as it always happens).
The reliability of any confirmation from another person depends on how long back their experience was. In the end you'll never have a 100% guarantee. Apply could come up with new guildlines just as we speak.
ps: If the launch screen is a hard requirement, the app should be auto-rejected quite quickly (though, note the "should" ^^).

I've released two apps to apple this year, and they just used the basic black launch screen followed by "made with unity". I didn't have to worry about any of that. If you have unity plus or pro, you can customize the splashscreen, though i don't have plus or pro, and have never done it myself...
