How to get the direction my Steam VR controller is pointing?
I am trying to move things around in 3D space kinda like a force push or pull. I am basically selecting an object and then wanting to move the object around based on what direction the controller is pointing. If I point the controller left, the object moves left, if I point right, the object moves right, etc.
Parenting the object does not do what I need it to do because I am looking to do small incremental changes to the floating object's position. I am not trying to simulate carrying an object. So I am thinking that I need to find the direction my controller is pointing, and then somehow broadcast the direction to the object I am trying to control and move the object along in that direction; however, I am stumped on how to accurately broadcast the direction to object I want to control.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
