How to make kinematic platform trigger events

So I have a platform with a RigidBody2D and a BoxCollider2D. It needs to support the physics based player, but still trigger bullets OnTriggerEvent2D so that the bullets get Destroyed when they hit it. So I set it to kinematic so they player doesn't knock them out of the sky, but now the OnTriggerEvent2D doesn't go off. How do I get both my desired effects.
