Render Numerical Values w/o Using GUI.*
I'm currently implementing a number line representing a player's position in a 2D environment at the bottom of my screen in landscape mode for the iPhone. In order to generate the horizontal axis at run time, I am currently making use of LineRenderer to create the axis and its tick marks every 10 units. I would also like to render the numerical value of each tick mark to better aid the player. Any suggestions of doing this on the fly?
Ideally, I'd think I would create some sort of reusable object that would render any number I feed it based upon a scale or tick mark position. I'm just drawing a blank on possible implementations.
This worked very nicely too in conjunction with the Text$$anonymous$$esh solution. Thanks!

You could use a TextMesh (GameObject > Create > 3d Text) to render the values in world, they work fine with any text you like
