[Solved] GetAxis always returns 0.8547567 & -1
Code screen shot to follow; Unity version 2017.1.1f1 Personal. Windows 10 OS on Alienware area 51
Doing a Udemy course about Unity. One of the code samples is key movement (WADS) using Input.GetAxis. The code below is the ONLY code in the game, attached to a sphere (Player) on a plane called Ground. Each has a single material for color. There are no other assets other then Unity default camera and light.
This as simple a game as it sounds, just a lesson in GetAxis.
IF game play area is selected, Vertical always returns 0.8547567 and Horizontal returns -1. IF console is selected during the same execution, both Axis return to 0 These results never vary from execution to execution.
Disconnected ALL Joysticks and joypads (Logitech G13) - No impact.
Wireless keyboard and mouse. Pulled the batteries on both during a run. - No impact.
Looked for extraneous mouse/joy drivers and tools in the device manager & system tray and disabled them - No impact.
Completely reconstructed the application to force Unity to recompile the library. - No impact
Went into project settings - inputs and removed the positive & negative input values, leaving them BLANK. - No Impact
Expanded the code to show mouse button, raw and anykey data as well;
Result looks like this in console;
I'm out of ideas what it could be.
Thanks!
Solved.
Turns out there was a set of peddles under the desk. Disconnected them and everything worked.
