How to make binary array toggle,How to make binary array switch/toggle?

Hey i am trying to make a scene where there are objects that change colour depending on what state you are looking at. I am trying to make the switch an array that uses a boolean to toggle them on/off The 0 value has a UI element that disappears when any of the other 4 states are toggled

void NegSelect()

 {
     //sets state of neutral button to true/false
     // neutral button enters false on all triggers except for 0
     //must work with buttons '1','2','3','4', or '0' for null value.
     //use integrated array to deal with colour coding
     //BOOLEAN TOGGLE
     // --------and---------
     //4 WAY ARRAY OF INTs
     if (Input.GetButtonDown("Return"))
        Negative.enabled = true;
        stateIndex = 0;
        Debug.Log(stateIndex);
     if (Input.GetButtonDown("Fire1"))
         Red1.enabled = true;
         stateIndex = 1;
         Debug.Log(stateIndex);

,here is my current code i am trying to make an array which when changing the value of it's index will change the colour of an object in the scene (0 and 1 should have the same value[but the UI element for 0 disappears when 1-4 are activated])

void NegSelect()

 {
     //sets state of neutral button to true/false
     // neutral button enters false on all triggers except for 0
     //must work with buttons '1','2','3','4', or '0' for null value.
     //use integrated array to deal with colour coding
     //BOOLEAN TOGGLE
     // --------and---------
     //4 WAY ARRAY OF INTs
     if (Input.GetButtonDown("Return"))
        Negative.enabled = true;
        stateIndex = 0;
        Debug.Log(stateIndex);
     if (Input.GetButtonDown("Fire1"))
         Red1.enabled = true;
         stateIndex = 1;
         Debug.Log(stateIndex);
