AI in 2d game avoid objects without rotation
Hi everyone, I am trying to write a script so that the AI can fly around obstacles and dodge various small objects. But an important nuance lies in the fact that in my game I cannot use rotation for this, and with the help of displacement, I cannot do anything adequate enough.
Can anyone advise something? What is needed is the concept of how best to implement it. Of the important points are the speed of scanning space for obstacles and, if possible, the minimum load on the PC. It is important that when you change the speed of the object (increase and decrease), dodge works equally well.
At the moment, the best I could think of is either using beams or multiple objects (as a kind of space scanners) to scan space for obstacles. But this system doesn't work well enough.
