Video player lagging on Adroid when transcoded
I have been having an issue with video playback on Android when the source video file is transcoded, as the playback stutters a lot. The source video file is in WebM container with the VP8 codec, only roughly 10MB in size, the resolution is 1920x1080 (lowering the resolution does not help the video performance, however). If transcoding is not enabled, then the video plays without any stuttering. The issue is that I need to make use of the video's alpha channel, which on the Android platform can be achieved only by transcoding it (into VP8 again).
Has anyone ever encountered this issue? There used to be a bug which caused stuttering when the Multithreaded Rendering option was enabled, however disabling it did not solve the issue.
