Modifying the FPS Walker script
I am having difficulty in telling where to start the character out, and whenever I run the game it results in the character being next to the terrain, but not on it. How can I change the initial coordinates to correlate with the landscape?
What's stopping you from moving the character in the editor before you start?
No, when I do start it the character isn't on the map, they are alongside it, so they simply fall down, and I removed the gravity to see if it changed anything but it simply made me sit there alongside the map doing nothing.
What do you mean by alongside it? Can you post a screenshot?
Why was this downvoted - is it a duplicate? Otherwise it seems like a reasonable Question. It may have been missing some information, but that's what comments are for.

I believe you have no floor or the floor is higher than your FPS(Y) Check you Y and make sure it is higher than the plane(terrain) you are traveling on. ..
Jack, you might want to let us in on the solution so that this entry holds some value for others who fall on the same issue
