Importing assets into projects always breaks the scripts.
Basically, on every project I make I have everything running perfectly, but as soon as I try to add an asset package all my scripts break and I get tons of compiler errors. The only solutions I can think of is to either add all my assets when I start a project and never add any more or to do a backup of the project every time I want to add something new.
Am I missing something here or is it supposed to work this way?
It's not usually the case. The most common would be equally named classes, methods etc. You could post 2 or 3 of the most common errors to let us see what's going on.
Not sure what asset you're trying to import there, but it looks like it was written for a pretty old verison of Unity - as the errors say, it's using a ton of deprecated features. If it's something you downloaded off the asset store, try updating it to a newer version.
