Avoid spherecast from shrinking over distance / find withing screenspace

Because how SphereCast works, it becomes smaller on your screen as the distance increases. I'm trying to find enemies within a part of my screen (around the crosshair) but I can't find any info on how to accomplish this. I would preffer a direct "check in screen" method, but Spherecast works great because it detects the first object it hits.
